My name is Sarah, I am your new workout buddy, teacher, tea-drinking movement obsessed fellow busy mum. Nice to meet you :)
I created Kore Pilates Studio as a safe, welcoming and calming environment for us to meet, feel good and gradually improve ourselves.
Consistent Pilates will make you physically 'better': stronger for sure, more mobile and lythe, but it goes deeper than that; if you let it, it can get right to the 'kore' of your being. The founder of the technique, Joseph Pilates recognised the psychological benefits of the discipline, mindful nature of the practice, and I personally think the social aspect can be enormously transformative too.
Having spent a few years working from home, gone through a divorce and then the covid pandemic as a single mum with a baby, I was suffering from the effects of isolation. As much as Kore Pilates is my 'baby business', it is also a mission to create a warm and thriving community.
My teaching style is largely focused on functional fitness; I advocate for the importance of skeletal muscle building, for our every day health, metabolism, and future-proofing. Teamed with classical Pilates as well as influence from sports training, dance and yoga and some mindful awareness.
